We use time as an etalon system to describe other things and processes of life. Everything has its destined place in time. But what about time itself? We often say that time flows, flies by, characterising it as something that is able to move. But what’s the background system of time then? In relation to what does it move? There are hypotheses of hypertime but they are problematic. Hypertime itself needs a system of its own, hyper-hypertime, which in turn needs its own etalons… this loop is infinite.
Another theory compares time to space. But space has more dimensions than time. The directions in space depend on the speaker. What is left for one could be right for another, etc. Time is supposed to have only one, fixed direction: past to future.
What is time? How can you bend it? Is time travel possible? Do we enter an alternative universe when/if travelling in time? What about time travel paradoxes?
Just some musings after I had read too many time-related articles for my essay on time travel fiction.
1. Own and live in a house.
Paved the way for my writing career by reading and writing on the topic. If I stick to it and do it right, with passion, it will become my main income and buy us that housr.
2. Write AND publish a book.
Theoretical work about the mevhanics of wtiting. Also, I read a bit of Frey’s book How to Write a Damn Good Novel.
3. Win a major race.
Easy run which felt hard. Ugh. Not feeling at my best.
