Day 832: Sometimes Having NO Internet is a Good Thing!

Day 832, January 8, spent in the new office. Out of chronic lack of time or laziness or whatever else, I didn’t walk the 10 minutes it takes from the office to the telecommunications company. I didn’t renew our Internet contract. I didn’t tell them that we need Internet in the office. Therefore, I spent my day there without it. My husband had three clients so his hands were full of work. I just had my laptop and two running workouts to accomplish during the day. We arrived 9am and left after 7pm. That’s a long time! Apart from occasionally turning on the 4G Internet on my phone, I spent the day without being online all the time. And it was good. I focused on the things that I can do without Internet. Like revising and editing my creative portfolios that were due on January 16 and January 18. At that time, it seemed that there was so much time ahead to handle them but… you know, how time flies (considering that time moves and isn’t like space)? Looking back, I am so glad I re-read and edited the stories back then. It was a bit painful but all in all I loved my own writing. I loved it even more when I had forced myself through the tedious process of editing.

Progress Report

1. Own and live in a house.

Once I got back home where we do have Internet, I continued working on a very long translation which shall bring in some money.

2. Write AND publish a book.

I worked on my creative portfolio for hours and hours. That’s a good sign! Getting started was not pleasant at all but I rediscovered how much I love writing.

3. Win a major race.

A tough workout in tough conditions. Too much snow, too slippery, too windy, too slow pace. At least I got it done!
