Day 840, December 31. How could I not write about the fireworks? To be honest, I have to admit that I never really understood the beauty of fireworks. I do come from a small town called Haapsalu, which used to have massive fireworks because of a fireworks competition held in summers. Still, I never really liked the noise, although I might have enjoyed the festive atmosphere a bit when I was younger and we went outside with father to blow our own fireworks up towards the sky.
I’d rather look at the fireworks from afar or maybe not look at it at all. OK, I can look but I’d rather not listen to that noise or inhale that smoke. Or… stumble upon the fireworks leftovers on the next day because people who do it seldom bother to clean after themselves. All in all, the concept of a bunch of drunk people blowing up money on New Year’s Eve doesn’t appeal to me. And it could end up in an accident. We visited friends that night. They live in a heavily populated area. At least, compared to us. We have a field behind our house. I am surprised no one blew up my car in Tallinn. I did park (well, a friend parked it for me because I’m no parking genius) it quite close to a park-like field where people gathered and lit their fireworks. Lucky?
Oh, could we just switch to laser light shows with no noise? And could we also regulate the time of the fireworks? I really don’t like those weeks full of loud bangs before and after the actual date.
1. Own and live in a house.
I continued working on my detox and meal plan book which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.
2. Write AND publish a book.
3. Win a major race.
It was a rest day. I only walked to the supermarket and back. Did reach only 7,500 steps for the day. Shame.
