Day 850: How I Outsmarted Amazon Kindle Publishing

My very first book launch on December 19 wasn’t the greatest because I had massive problems with Amazon. When I uploaded the super beautiful PDF that I had created in Canva (it took quite a few working days), the converter turned it into something ugly. I was devastated. All that hard work gone to waste.

I downloaded Kindle Create, special software to convert and create your e-book files. I didn’t hope much from it but still tried to convert my PDF. After a few clicks, I had a new KPF file. As far as I realised, nothing had gone wrong. So far, so good. I opened KDP again and uploaded it there. I held my breath as the file was being converted and clicked “Preview” once again. I scrolled through the document. Unbelievable, nothing wrong! All I needed to do was to download the special software and convert my file there. If only I had known earlier, I would have saved quite a lot of grey brain cells. Never mind, you learn as long as you live (but still die a stupid person if you believe a popular Estonian song).

Progress Report

1. Own and live in a house.

Well, I finally uploaded my e-book to Amazon, which is supposed to be a large platform, available all over the world. One day, it will bring in enough money.

2. Write AND publish a book.

Published. Once again.

3. Win a major race.

Just an easy run in preparation of a race.
