Day 904: Sun-Day

Day 904, October 28, a true Sun-Day with lots of sunshine to enjoy. First, we did our running workouts. Or, I mean, I did, he had a rest day. Then we went for a stroll in the town centre. Wow, shops were open. On a Sunday! We are talking about the United Kingdom where they close shopping centres around 5.30 pm on an average day. Would think that they do not open at all on a Sunday. But they do. In Estonia, the big centres are open until 9 pm, that’s why I keep considering this surprising. We did view plenty of colourful shop windows, many of them decorated in the spirit of Halloween. I kept thinking whether they would change the decorations on November 1 when Halloween is over. Possibly. We didn’t buy anything but rejoiced at browsing. Lots of interesting stuff. I had a restless urge to get our own house built to decorate and redecorate and have boxes full of stuff for different seasons. You know, a box of snowflake decorations for the winter, flowery stuff for the spring, etc. This can be so much fun! Ah, finally sound like a grown-up, all excited about decorating home! Oh, yes, I do find Ikea exciting too.

Progress Report

1. Own and live in a house.

Like I already mentioned, we were going in and out of small stores and found loads of interesting stuff that I would gladly take to Estonia with me and put inside that house that we do not yet have. My suitcase would not fit any of it, to be honest. This means that all of it must remain in the UK. I did take the inspiration home with me.

2. Write AND publish a book.

Kept reading and enjoying Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. What a masterpiece! Surprises me on every page! Didn’t write though. I don’t really think that writing recipes counts. Or maybe it does because I also include a small introductory part and try and make it different for each recipe.

3. Win a major race.

Long run day. I quite enjoyed running by the riverside. The narrow path with its muddy patches was fully delightful. Of course, loads of other people were there too, many with their dogs. I managed to startle a dog as I approached from behind. Happens. The pace was better than a week ago. Improving!

We spent quite a lot of our time in Shrewsbury running by the river. River Severn.
